Dr. Tibay was vested the distinguished TOME Award in Education over other PSME Chapter nominees who were ranked according to their professional achievements and contributions to the PSME, community and country. TOME award is the most coveted recognition  given annually to the distinguished men and women in the profession.

“I’m really honored by the TOME nomination of the PSME Cebu Chapter to the national screening committee of the PSME Board of Evaluations. Being nominated is a great privilege already because your name will be considered among the best mechanical engineers in the country,” Dr. Tibay said.

“Practicing mechanical engineers who excel in their chosen fields are reflections of excellent trainings and achievements and they eventually serve as inspiration to fellow mechanical engineers in pursuit of excellence,” National PSME President and Former Chairman of the PRC Board of Examiner for Mechanical Engineering Leandro E. Conti said.

This year’s TOME award is classified into six (6) different fields: community service, contracting, entrepreneurship, management, manufacturing and consultancy.

As a  prolific member of the Board of Directors since 2006 until 2014, Dr. Tibay  had been a consistent  awardee for his invaluable contribution to the PSME Cebu Chapter.

The late DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo, a mechanical engineer by profession, was also conferred the posthumous TOME Award in Public Service. (UPO)
