2016 Regional SCUAA Games opening sets aside looming typhoon

Lighting of the flame of sportsmanship

Despite the looming typhoon, the  2016 Regional SCUAA Games opened with all  four participating state colleges and universities (SUCs) on Sunday, January 8, 2017.

Officials, players, coaches and event coordinators  from Cebu Technological University, Cebu Normal University (CNU), Bohol Island State University (BISU), and Siquijor State College (SSC) paraded around the CTU-Danao oval instead of taking the route from Danao City Hall to Danao City Campus.

Banners on the sidelines  came through from CTU-Danao students to support the athletes  on their first day until the event culminates on Thursday.

Green flaglets also held by some  heralded  for determination as players eye for a win to compete in the nationals.

CTU President Rosein A. Ancheta Jr.,who is also the chairman of  PASUC Region VII,  ushered everyone to the event.

Presentations from the host  propelled  everyone’s interest toward the grand fireworks display that signaled for  a high-spirited series of games the next day until Wednesday.

Later in the evening, the band enthused university dignitaries at the fellowship.

CTU-Danao and CTU-Carmen share the responsibility of hosting this year’s event with the strong support from the CTU administration. (UPO)
