Technological programs earn CTU spot for academic visit to Taiwan

Technological programs and  the university’s performance in agriculturist and forester licensure examinations were key reasons that prompted Philippine Education Career System (PhilHECS) Presidential Leadership Program (PLP)   to include  Cebu Technological University (CTU) President Dr. Rosein A. Ancheta Jr.  in the International Academic Visit (IAV) to Taiwan.

Dr. Ancheta and 23 others left for Taiwan yesterday and will stay there through March 12th to learn best practices from top-of-the line institutions. National Taiwan University is one with its  International Center of Excellence in Intelligent Robotics and Automation Research.

Presidential Leadership Program (PLP), one of the components of   Phil-HECS,  is a development program for incumbment SUC presidents and chancellors  that  update them  on best practices, trends and new government policies  in higher education management.

Nominees, as per memorandum of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) , have met minimum qualifications such as being able to serve for 8 years  in current institution.

The six-day international visit  is made possible through an official development assistance partnership agreement with Taiwan’s Ministry   of Education (MOE).

PhilHECS aims to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of State University and College (SUC) governance in the country through the establishment  of a coherent and merit-based recruitment, selection, professional advancement, and career management in Philippine SUCs.

It is implemented by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in partnership with the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) and the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).  UPO
