CTU: StuFAP beneficiaries qualify for “no-tuition-fee policy”

This year’s “no-tuition-fee policy” in all state universities and colleges (SUCs) poses huge support from the present administration to education despite the one-year coverage. Apart from the short timeline, students may have other compelling matters such as “who is qualified?”

As for CTU, Student Financial Assistance Program (StuFAP) beneficiaries will be the first ones to benefit from the free tuition program. Others (such as graduating students with one semester or one academic year remaining) may avail of it, subject to the availability of the program’s funds.

Requirements for non-StuFAP beneficiaries are BIR Form 2316 (of the sponsor who is a family member), BIR certificate of exemption from filing of ITR, and other government-issued documents that indicate income.

Per DBM’s guidelines, Cebu Technological University has the highest allocation with 379.192 million. Thus, Vice President for Academic Affairs Victor D. Villaganas thanked for the privilege accorded to CTU students and said, “They must be serious in their studies … . It is a good character for them to value and reciprocate the good gestures the government has given.”

StuFAP and non-StuFAP (qualified) students have a lot to look forward to this academic year 2017-2018 which commences on July 3. KML/UPO Contributor
