An initial talk with one of Utrecht University’s (UU) academics in June presented the possibility of partnership with Cebu Technological University, focusing on research in education and social sciences.

What was thought of as a simple assessment of CTU Barili on-the-job trainees (OJTs)  in The Netherlands turned out to be an “extra-miler” for CTU President Rosein A. Ancheta Jr., with CTU Barili Campus Director Genes Pasaje and two others, following performance evaluation of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) major in horticulture OJTs  in established companies in said country.

Dr. Ancheta appreciated Professor Albert Pilot’s positive response on the matter during the visit to UU, as union with The Netherlands’ number 1 university per 2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities conducted by Shanghai University is a major gateway toward opportunities that could strengthen CTU’s position in terms of research in the Philippines.

An expert in aforesaid fields, Dr. Pilot has published numerous studies in internationally accredited journals. It can be inferred, albeit prematurely, that his optimistic engagement regarding the pursuit would inspire CTU academics to push the bar of excellence in generating knowledge, primarily causing an improvement in the human capital.

Working on the MOA is hoped to transpire in the coming months given the president’s extensive effort to follow up on international linkages. UPO
