Massive infrastructure development was not an impediment to ABS-CBN and CTU’s hosting of the “Halad sa Kapamilya” on July 1, where thousands of Cebuanos flocked to avail of various services from the region’s public and private sectors.
With the ongoing construction in the university’s main campus, initial decision was that of not allowing the event to take place. However, with its longstanding commitment to the public, CTU authorities had given in to the purpose that has been served for years.
As early as 6 am, people came for free medical, dental, laboratory, optical and legal services, veterinary check-up, laboratory, manicure/pedicure, reflexology, cellphone and laptop repair, and school supplies.
Seminars were held on topics such as business planning, motorcycle driving, livelihood and techno-demo, parenting skills and improving English skills.
Linda Paguyo, a resident of Brgy. Mambaling in an interview said,“Nanghinaut ku nga magpadayun ni nga free nga serbisyu sa ABS-CBN para makatabang namu nga nanginahanglan.”
