Representatives from different state universities and colleges revised the general guidelines of the socio-cultural competition in August for this year’s Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) National Culture and Arts Festival.
The group agreed to retain the five major categories: literary, visual and performing arts and musical and dance competitions but with changes in the sub-categories.
Pencil drawing, photo contest and street dancing were added while hip-hop was removed. Revised guidelines may be accessed for mechanics of added events.
Expanding the competition by adding other forms of art depicts the diverse capabilities of Filipino students especially in the tertiary level.
Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) currently supervises 112 SUCs to engage in the annual festival that aims at providing avenues for students to enrich the Philippine culture. KML/RM
