Assistant Secretary of Finance and Legal Affairs Emmanuel S. Galvez of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) met with Cebu Technological University President Rosein A. Ancheta Jr. on September 23 to introduce Niche Centers in the Regions for R&D (NICER) Program, laying the ground work for major developments he sees fit for an expansive technological university.
Atty. Galvez shared his observation on the university’s positivity in producing research projects. This he made clear that the paradigm should continue and that diversity of researches be put premium.
Specifically, he eyed potential projects with the campuses in Danao, Daanbantayan, Carmen and Camotes.
It was a general note that DOST and CTU could work together toward materializing progress in the country. Asec. Galvez is determined to position the university strategically in terms of technological advancements.
His anticipated visit on October 18 would probably cite the specifics relative to the projects he previously pointed out in September with CTU Vice President for Research Gloria Delan and Vice President for Production, Extension and Business Affairs Edgar Tibay. RM/KML
