Cebu Technological University Main Electronics Engineering Team is one of the five finalists at the Lear Corp.-sponsored innovation olympics through their research on preventing worse incidents through sending information to authorized personnel, using automatic vehicle incident reporting, tracking and cloud data-logging device using GSM, GPS and loT module.
CTU will have to compete with Cebu universities such as USC, USJR, and CIT-U, which are given equal opportunity to present and defend research outputs on November 17 and vie for a Php 125,000 cash prize.
Sercon Maiso Jr., Adrian Melgo, Ailyn Ompad, and Engr. Maria Gemel Palconit, adviser, are ready to take on the challenge with the support of Engr. Jun-Jun Obeso, EcE chairperson.
In an interview, Dr. Obeso stated that the researchers’ proposal can benefit both drivers and passengers in case of emergencies as it is capable of sending real-time information to a specific receiver set in the microcontroller.
The event promotes innovation of cutting-edge technologies through collaboration of students from various universities.
