Cebu Technological University President Rosein A. Ancheta Jr. never missed to thank the organizers and participants before declaring the 2017 Regional PASUC Culture and Arts Festival open on Wednesday, November 8.
Being the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges chair for Region VII, Dr. Ancheta appreciated their effort of prioritizing PASUC events where students find interest in nurturing the passion for a distinctive culture.
Cebu Normal University (CNU), Bohol Island State University (BISU), Siquijor State College (SSC) and CTU are competing in many events such as the literary arts, dance, singing, virtual arts and MR. & MS. PASUC as a way of embracing diverse talents from state universities in the region.
The hype is on especially for CTU having representatives in all 25 categories.
CTU Cultural Director Francisco Lucero is in keeping with the standards of the university in bringing hopeful contenders to this year’s convention.
Upholding one of the goals of PASUC was reiterated during the solidarity meeting where coaches once again consider common grounds to ensure camaraderie in the entire competition.
BISU Tagbilaran is this year’s recipient of the responsibility to further the initiatives of enriching the nation’s culture despite new concepts that are gradually integrated into the mainstream society.
Valuing the country’s heritage has been the organization’s ultimate goal which administrators, academics and students actively pursue.
Winners are heading home on Friday, ready to rally for the national tourney in Dumaguete. RM
