Around 200 studies were presented by faculty researchers from the main and satellite campuses of Cebu Technological University during the R and D Congress at the start of the year.
There were 127 proposals and 72 full papers from different categories: education and social sciences; engineering, information, communication, and industrial technology; fisheries and environment, and agriculture and food processing.
Dr. Rosalyn Alburo’s papers won first, second and third in the fisheries and environment category while Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual was one of the winners in the agriculture and food processing category. Both came from the southern campuses of CTU, and they have had research collaborations aided by one of the research institutes in Thailand.
Winners in other categories are yet to be named considering the bulk of materials evaluators had to go through.
Critiquing the presentations were individuals clustered into four to allow simultaneous presentations—Dr. Monina M. Escalada, Dr. Ferdinand T. Abocejo, Dr. Jeffry Ocay, Dr. Reynaldo Inocian, Dr. Edwin Carcasona, Engr. Joseph Carl Salva, Dr. Wilfredo Uy, Dr. Anthony Ilano, Dr. Noel Roble, Ms. Lisa Marie Paguntalan, Dr. Manuel Palomar, Dr. Jose Bacusmo, Dr. Kriengkrai Mosaleeyanon, and Dr. Verawat Champreda.
At the closing ceremony, University Director for Research and Development Hemres A. Alburo acknowledged the dynamism of each researcher for upholding CTU’s vision in terms of knowledge generation.
