Quality assurance director gains more with US training on accreditation

Dr. Pineda meets with participants at Capitol Hilton in Washington D.C.

“Feeling motivated in learning new things and techniques”, said University Director for Quality Assurance Hedeliza Pineda when asked about her trip to the United States of America for the second time (the first was in Hawaii for a conference).

Elected as one of the members of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. Board of Trustees, Dr. Pineda is privileged to experience the conference organized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) International Quality Group, which commenced last week.

She spoke of being motivated since it’s her first international forum with AACCUP. Learning new ideas and techniques helps widen her horizon in terms of quality assurance. It also helps CTU in elevating standards of the different degree programs through accreditation.

Her sincerest gratitude goes to the agency for the trust and confidence on her expertise in promoting quality services to stakeholders, as her vision for CTU is to compete with leading universities not just in the Philippines but also in the ASEAN region.

Prior to leaving for the US two weeks ago, she commented on taking herself to sites such as the National Air and Space Museum, National Gallery of Arts, and the National Archives Museum a ‘must-do’ task before returning to the country. KML
