‘Turn fear into fire,’ says Monsour at national games opening

“Turn fear into fire,” Congressman  Monsour del Rosario sparked inspiration among athletes at the opening of SCUAA National Games 2018 yesterday in Antique Province.

A taekwondo champion, movie actor and a politician, Cong. del Rosario said delivering the speech was an opportunity in lieu of  Sen. Loren Legarda, who was supposed to meet the crowd. He seized time telling athletes what they probably would want to hear from anyone who himself gave pride to his country in the field of sports—“desire, discipline and determination” to keep the fire burning.

Applause escaped from the crowd— a sign of agreement to the much needed force as games would start to unfold today until February 23.

It was never all throughout joyous, as everyone recalled  former PASUC President Ricardo Rotoras, who was awarded at the event posthumously.

Everyone was brought to silence before  balloons filled the ebony skies.

Antique’s officials had made it all possible to lure the crowd into a festive celebration, where a huge number of high schoolers performed their field demonstration.

The annual affair gave everyone a glimpse at the vibrant cultures of Western Visayas (Region VI) comprised of 6 provinces.

People lined up to witness the parade well before the skies darkened showed solidarity among them on a sunny Sunday.

Cong. del Rosario’s note on wielding the fiery spirit is in fact a collective desire of everyone involved. ICPA
