CTU Main Quick Response Team looks forward to immersing in summer activities by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) and the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Center (CDRRMC).
Created in 2016, CTU-QRT relayed to ICPA its various accomplishments: National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (March 15, 2017), ASEAN Summit (April 15, 2017), CHED Anniversary (May 15, 2017), IRONMAN 2017, SINULOG 2017 & 2018, Halad sa Kapamilya 2017, and Disability Inclusive Risk Reduction Management (DiDRRM) training (December 20, 2018).
The team is now applying for accreditation as one of the official organizations of the university.
Disaster Risk Reduction Management is the systematic process of using administrative directives, organizations, and operational skills and capacities to implement strategies, policies and improved coping capabilities in order to lessen the adverse impacts of hazards and the possibility of disaster.
It is anchored in Republic Act No. 10121 also known as the “Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010”, strengthens the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) System, providing for the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Framework and Institutionalizing the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan.
