Despite threats of super typhoon in Cebu last week, universities and industries sent members to the regional workshop on research upgrading and performance evaluation by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).
Co-hosting the event, CTU President Rosein Ancheta Jr. in his speech iterated the university’s vision that pushes constituents to not only make CTU a research university but also a “Science, Technology and Innovation Hub of Region 7.”
Topics touched on included the essence of scientific mentoring and formation of research groups, role of a research manager, and research in the private sector among others.
Significantly, “publish or perish” and “commercialize or vaporize” were two of the major discursive frames that transpired in the activity.
Sending many of its academics, CTU has once again brought them more ways to uphold the innovation culture. Jonash O. Durano/ UICP
