Brenan Labaya and Jess Angelson Lascuña of CTU Main had all participants thinking what it felt like to hold the championship trophy and the 60,000 cheque again after 5 years following victory at the National Civil Engineering Quiz 2018 on Saturday, September 22.
Among 126 teams, CTU (B) hurdled at the final round to beat 1st runner-up Technological University of the Philippines-Manila (A) and 2nd runner-up St. Loius College (A). CTU Team (A) also landed 4th place.
“The win was expected. ..part of the motivation was being finalist last year ,” Coach Joenel Lumbab said.
Defining the department is a culture that subjects quizzers to advanced review. “[They] enrolled in review centers because not all topics are taught in class, not to mention the broad scope of engineering),”he added.
Dean Edgar Ambos and CE Dept. chair Engr. Evalinda Pelimer have to look forward to more championships as training camp involved faculty and alumni who were board topnotchers.
