Mechatronics team nails first AUAP international robotics tourney at 2nd place

Mechatronics team makes through first AUAP robotics match-up at 2nd place, with coach Prof. Jay Lester Radam (3rd from left) and Prof. Lelanie Cordero (7th from left) who currently chairs the Mechatronics Department of CTU Main.

The country’s first international robotics competition by the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) had Cebu Technological University at second place on September 27 at the World Trade Center in Manila.

Mechatronics team[CTU Main]—Juneil Daculara, Aldrin John Encina, Sherwin Cabilan, and Kimdee Duran—defied the challenge  as they fulfilled roles as  either robot builder/driver or programmer.

Adding what seemed to be the cherry on top was their being given the ‘Excellence Award’ in the Vex U Competition.

CTU President Rosein Ancheta Jr. was quick to post on facebook his snappy commendation on September 28: “Congratulations Cebu Technological University.”

The university has been a member of AUAP since 2015. UICP
