THE Department of Science and Technology (DOST) approved Cebu Technological University’s (CTU) request for financial assistance intended for the visit of Filipino engineering professor from the Civil Engineering Department of Technical University of Denmark (TUD).
The cash grant amounting to P312,424 will cover the expenses of the visit of Dr. Ernesto Jusayan Guades in CTU from November 25 through December 22, as per the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research (PCIEERD) Human Resources Development.
CTU Civil Engineering Department chairperson Lawrence Orjalesa spoke of Dr. Guades’ upcoming visit as a big boost especially that the university is already offering master’s program not only in civil engineering (CE) but also in mechanical, electrical and industrial engineering.
“We may notice that our research in CE is very weak that’s why he will come to help us. He will help upgrade CTU in terms of research, curriculum and teaching,” Dr. Orjalesa added./CTU MAIN–UPO
