Tabang Sudlon extension project culminates

Beneficiaries, CAS faculty and Development Communication students in Sitio Sudlon

The first phase of the research-based community extension project Tabang Sudlon culminated on December 8, 2019 in  Sitio Sudlon, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

Referencing ‘help’ as the direct translation of the Cebuano word ‘ tabang’ in the title,  the GAA-funded project advocates for sustainable community  through solid waste management.

Development Communication (DevComm) Professor Mydah Kabingue and select College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) students facilitated the games and storytelling that made use of Prof. Kabingue’s own material published last year, featuring easy-to-follow narrative suited for children.

Homemakers also took part in recycling clothes and other materials to craft frames as  demonstrated by Prof. Eva Jonah Mari Enojas.

Other CAS facilitators  present were Prof. Jun Bernados and Prof. Allan Marinas led by Extension chair Nemia Zamora and CAS Dean Lynette Matea Camello. /Rowanne Marie Maxilom-Mangompit
