No shortage of face shields with extension team on the roll

Cebu Provincial Hospital receives first batch of DIY face shields from CTU Danao through Extension Services representatives (2nd and 3rd from left).

There seems to be no lack of face shields with CTU workforce on the move, providing 60 more to Cebu Provincial Hospital (CPH) in Danao City at 5:00 pm yesterday.

CPH Chief Mary Ann Josephine Arsenal met with CTU Danao extension team who heeded the call to go above and beyond the call of duty in these trying times.

The effort came as a huge support to one of Cebu’s public medical institutions. Its proximity to the campus, being 500 meters away, made it the target for the first batch of do-it-yourself face shields.

Its role will continue as the Department of Health (DOH) requested for more personal protective equipment (PPE) planned to be distributed to four more facilities. Noteworthy is DOH’s approval of the PPE’s design, thus giving the team green light to push for production.

Recipients included Talisay District Hospital, Cebu City Medical Center, Eversley Childs Sanitarium and General Hospital and Vicente Sotto Medical Center.

Moreover, the team forwarded 160 face shields to Danao LGU for distribution to other sectors as Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), rural health units, and other frontliners.-Dr. Sarah Colina/ ICPA Danao
