CTU Barili engaged residents of Pinamungajan in “Training on Technology Commercialization of Blended Beverage from Seaweed and Selected Tropical Fruits” through Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative (LMC) on February 17 through 21.
Participants were led to the efficient production of blended beverages made from guso or seaweed (Kappaphycus alvarezii) and tropical fruits (Mangifera indica Linn and Theobroma cacao).
Funded by the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR), the program seeks to increase the community’s seaweed and tropical fruits consumption in having a healthier lifestyle and in promoting sustainable initiatives.
Barili campus links with LMC and Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) to process blended beverages for commercialization. Prof. Danny Carabio/ICPA Barili
