Radio Tech Talk (RTT) is the latest weekend program of Bulawanu’ng Tinubdan (BT) Radio 98.1 of CTU Tuburan, featuring a thing or two about technology and its impact on the locals especially in Cebu’s far north.
Its pilot episode, “The Radio Broadcast – a quick look into AM, FM and internet radio,” was aired on July 19th from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Specifically its segments—“Technology in Focus” and “Internet radio – more properly called webcasting” delved into the benefits of amplitude and frequency modulations as well as the origins of the internet-dependent type of broadcasting, which builds popularity over the years since its inception.
The latest radio show, in English and Cebuano-Visayan, never misses out on promoting the campus’ research and innovative outputs by academics and students. Many of these innovations have been shared to the community through extension programs sanctioned by the university.
Informing the public on these undertakings would help much in staying relevant to society’s demands. Currently, the campus’s shared service facility (SSF) has grown small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) around the area, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and faculty expertise.
A technology advocate himself, Fernando Mangubat Jr., anchors the show aside from being the station manager. He co-authored the CTU-funded research in 2015 that led to BTR’s establishment in 2016.
