CompE team champions regional eComics contest

Jimmy Ricks Grajo (L) and Adrian Jose Arioja (R)

What better way to get into the spirit of #Inktober2020 than to pick the brains of some of the most creative students in the academe.

Two CTU Danao computer engineering freshmen bested others in Region 7 at the first Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) electronic comics-making contest.

Jimmy Ricks Grajo and Adrian Jose Arioja won first prize for their entry, “Action,” with a grade of 92%.

It was anchored on “Consumer in the New Normal,” one of the five themes to choose from in the competition.

“Struggles are present in every endeavor, but with perseverance and consistency, everything is possible,” team leader Grajo, who consistently won awards in arts during high school years, told ICPA in an online interview.

The eComics challenge  was one of the major activities in celebration of the Consumer Welfare Month (CWM) in October, encouraging both public and private sectors to heed its policies and programs.

Danao campus sent another team: Clariza Balag, Bernardina Nadela, and Ella Jane Rosales, which landed the 3rd spot, with their entry, “Alisto! Para Sigurado: Consumer Rights Dapat Kabisado,” with an average score of 88%.

Both groups received support from Computer Engineering Dept. chair Chona Dagatan and campus fablab manager Christine Omela Ocampo.
