Yolanda story prompts relief efforts for Ulysses victims

As many parts of the country reeled from the effects of typhoon Ulysses last year, CTU Daanbantayan recalled how typhoon Yolanda devastated the municipality in 2013, whose aftermath has fuelled relief efforts ever since.

“Our own experience of super typhoon Yolanda moved our hearts for the victims. I was overwhelmed with the turnout of relief goods donated by the NSTP students who, despite being in the pandemic situation,  made an effort to contribute. I am glad that my colleagues willingly shared, as well.  The student leaders initiated  by putting donation boxes in barangays. Surprisingly, some of the community members did extend in-kind donations” said Prof. Felixberto  Lucabon Jr., who leads the campus Community Welfare Services.

Having accumulated enough, the campus had relief items sent to CTU Tuburan  that sheltered a majority of evacuees in the municipality badly hit by Ulysses.

Alongside CTU Daanbantayan were other CTU campuses that pitched in monetary and in-kind donations. Nikkithea Beduya/ICPA Daanbantayan
