Ensuring gender mainstreaming in all institutional processes, pursuant to BOR Resolution No. 237, series of 2020, the CTU Gender and Development(GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS) identified 34 targets for this year.
Among said goals earmarked at the 1st quarter meeting included: formulation of policies and guidelines for GAD database; benchmarking in national HEIs; conduct of activities as the Women’s Month Celebration and violence against women campaign (VAWC); and intensification of training-workshops for CTU employees.
GAD Director Sheilalaine Romulo facilitated the event alongside keynote speakers from the university: Director for Research and Development Ryan Urbano and Director for Technology Business Incubation Development Lolita Villariaza Velita, who added depth to mapping the gender perspective and women empowerment through the Technology Business Incubation (TBI) program.
“The active participation, camaraderie, common goal, and passion among women and men, teaching and non-teaching staff of CTU made the event impactful,” said Dr. Romulo, in a Facebook post, extending her thanks to the CTU administrators for their support to the technical working group. GAD/ccmr/rmmm
