CTU Main and Big Blue Logistics Corporation (BBLC), a cold storage warehousing company based in Cebu, agreed to secure the University-Industry Collaboration Program on April 6th.
As per the MOU, both parties shall promote student-teacher training program, primarily benefitting the College of Technology and the College of Engineering, whose programs are related to BBLC’s specializations.
More importantly, it would strengthen the departments focusing on mechatronic and automotive technology and refrigeration and air-conditioning technology.
The corporation agreed to donate a mini cold storage facility with a complete set of controls for operation simulation of an automated cold storage facility, automotive material handling equipment (MHE) and other engineering instructional tools.
Adding depth to its corporate social responsibility, it also provides on-site trainings for academics and students alike.
The move is expected to improve the university’s technical-vocational training to meet the demands of the industry. This vision would even be realized given that the plan to improve the campus’ training workshop area was underscored in the document.
BBLC is the first domestic corporation to have established a deal with CTU this year./UICPA
