
Cebu Technological University provided northerners access to tertiary education yet again, marked by the groundbreaking ceremony last month.
The soon-to-rise infrastructure is the first extension campus of CTU Carmen, spanning the distance of 34.3 kilometers via the Central Nautical Highway.
As for the degree programs to be offered, CTU Carmen has yet to confirm them with UICPA.
The 18-M, two-storey building will occupy the 26,174-square meter LGU-donated property this August, pursuant to the memorandum of agreement signed by Sogod Mayor Richard Streegan and University President Rosein Ancheta Jr.
Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri’s initial 10-million allocation is for the project’s first phase, including that of the LGU’s 8 million.
As of late, CTU has 11 existing extension campuses which will be added with five more in Balamban, Minglanilla, Consolacion, Liloan and Sogod, as municipal leaders had expressed intent for a partnership with CTU as per signed MOAs.
