CTU gives back to celebrate 27th CHED Founding Anniversary

Cebuanos visit various pantries across Cebu province set up by Cebu Technological University on May 18th.

Giving back was the motif on Tuesday, May 18th, with numerous CTU volunteers setting up pantries across Cebu province to celebrate the 1st National Higher Education Day and 27th CHED Founding Anniversary.

Themed “PADYAK! Moving Forward, Claiming Victory for Philippine Higher Education Pamantasan: Pandayan Tungo sa Kaunlaran”, the commemoration urged state universities and colleges (SUCs) across the country to engage in the simultaneous conduct of sharing blessings with the community.

CTU’s way was in the form of an “extension festival,” asking  teaching and non-teaching staff to participate in pantries or livelihood activities.

The timing was enough to mitigate common financial setbacks while facing the effects of the ongoing battle against the coronavirus.

Doing the pantries were CTU Daanbantayan, Carmen, Danao, Tuburan, and Main, promoting Bayanihan, a Filipino tradition of cooperation that still lives up to this day.

Other campuses as CTU San Francisco, Moalboal, San Remigio, Bantayan and Tabogon  planted mangroves and bamboos, while CTU Argao conducted an online COVID-19 vaccination awareness symposium./Ale Taneo/UICPA
