Food center established in Tuburan; livelihood program sustained

Vice President for Research and Development Adrian Ybañez and LAMAC Multipurpose Cooperative General Manager Maria Elena Limocon open the Smart Food Center in  Colonia, Tuburan Cebu on May 7, 2021.

Technology commercialization and business incubation in Tuburan, Cebu were given full support in that Cebu Technological University (CTU)  and Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative (LMPC) finally established a Smart Food Center on May 4. 

The launching  featured a week-long capability training of CTU Tuburan students and faculty and LMPC employees, with the financial support from the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research.

Both institutions have ventured into seaweed and coconut commercialization   for over a year now and has since  impacted the lives of  farmers across provinces.
