Honoring National Flag Day

Against the backdrop of the nearly completed academic building in CTU Main, personnel abides by the National Flag Day decree.

May 28 is the country’s National Flag Day, and several Cebu Technological University employees attended the flag-raising under Presidential Proclamation No. 374 issued on March 6, 1945.

Despite fears of contracting the virus, personnel joined as they remembered the defeat of the Spanish forces by the Philippines Revolutionary Army in Cavite in 1898.

As usually done, the flag is flown from May 28th through June 12th to celebrate Independence Day.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Edwin Pilapil led the ceremony with several College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) academics.

In a Facebook post, CAS Dean Lynnette Camello expressed thanks to CTU Main DirectorJoseph Pepito, who encouraged his colleagues to join as previous gatherings did not have a considerable number.

Its satellite and extension campuses also commemorated the event and have since practiced it with the Commission on Higher Education’s urging as part of its 27th Founding Anniversary with a month-long celebration./Almie Mata
