The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) extended greetings to Cebu Technological University (CTU) for being granted an overall rating of three stars by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Stars team in 2020.
In a statement released on May 19, 2021, the Commission commended the university being “one of the first public universities to be ranked in the QS stars” under its “Fostering World Class Philippines Universities Project.”
CHED saw the achievement as a way of “developing the university’s credibility and elevating its global academic reputation.”
The country now has 18 higher education institutions (HEIs) recognized internationally, following the QS Stars ranking evaluation in June 2019.
CHED Chairperson Prospero de Vera underscored that such an accomplishment makes the country the “world’s promising education destinations.” /UICPA
