VSMMC lauds CTU Danao’s blood drive

Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) presented Cebu Technological University Danao with  the Lapu-lapu and Juan Climaco awards at the event dubbed “Adlaw Pasalamat sa Dugong Halad,” in celebration of the National Organ and Blood Donation month.

CTU Danao’s National Service Training Program (NSTP) chair Delia Sabio virtually received such recognitions on June 17th for its sustained blood-donation efforts in Region 7.

Lapu-lapu and Juan Climaco awards are for VSMMC’s partners who have collected 351 blood units and the highest annual collection, respectively. Both accolade labels are in honor of two of Cebu’s acclaimed figures.

The northern campus generated 861 blood units in 2019 from the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) trainees and Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets.

Since 2014, it has conducted mobile blood donations, which are practiced among local government units across Cebu. Sarah Jane Colina/ICPA Danao
