Virtual PressCon 2021 concluded

Student writers compete at the 2021 online press conference.

The new normal prompted student publications across CTU campuses to have its first-ever  virtual press conference in June. 

Themed “Fostering 21st Century’s Communication Skills through Virtual Campus Journalism,” the 3-day event  had group and individual competitions such as news, feature, sports, and editorial writing, editorial cartooning, and photojournalism. 

The panel of adjudicators  included Dr. Rhodora Magan, Prof. Calvin Cempron, Edgar Sausa Jr., Marc Eric Cosep , Josua Cabrera, and Naomi Jean Marie.

CTU Daanbantayan’s photojournalism entries labeled “The New Normal” rank 1st.

CTU Moalboal’s student publication Ang Taga won  six awards, CTU Main’s The Nation Builder won four,  CTU Tuburan’s The Polytechnic Bulletin and CTU Daanbantayan’s The Modern Fisher won two, respectively.

Other participants were Malabuyoc’s Ang Taga Beyond , Carmen’s The Aquarian, Danao’s The Working Hand, and Dumanjug’s The Southern Beacon./ICPA Daanbantayan/The Nation Builder
