CTU celebrates 54th ASEAN anniversary

Cebu Technological University joined Region 7 constituents at the opening of the month-long celebration of the 54th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on August 9th, organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) 7.

According to Regional Director Maximo Aljibe in his welcome address, the present administration’s political will is laudable for allowing 1.6 million college students in the country to benefit from ASEAN initiatives. 

Themed We Care, We Prepare, We Prosper  by the host country of Brunei and subthemed PADYAK! Moving Forward, Claiming Victory for Philippine Higher Education in the ASEAN Community,” the event drew support from netizens via Facebook Live especially at the announcement of activities for both students and academics.

On August 24th, CTU won 3rd place for Best Innovative Instructional Design Concept in the online teaching model competition, through Dr. Ronald Galindo’s entry:  “Flexible, Innovative, Replicable, and Mobile (FIRM) Instructional Technology Equipment (ITE) for Online Teaching and Learning During COVID-19 Pandemic.”

Alongside CTU, other participating higher educational institutions (HEIs) for the aforesaid category were University of Cebu Main, Lapu-Lapu City College, Cebu Normal University, University of San Jose-Recoletos, University of Bohol and Siquijor State College.
