Cebu Technological University collected its first Engr. Rene Burt N. Llanto Research Excellence Award at the 6th Central Visayas Health Research and Innovation Conference (CVHRIC) via Facebook live on July 16th.
The award references the late DOST-7 regional director, whose research, in one way or another, has influenced the consortium’s health and development undertakings.
“The edge of CTU among colleges and institutions in the region … is on the utility models in food products with health benefits and the influx of health-related research grants from DOST to CTU,” said CTU Vice President for Research and Development Adrian Ybañez, who himself is working on two DOST-funded studies to be completed this year.
These are “Development of hand rubs and disinfectant gel innovations for COVID-19 health and personnel front liners in Central Visayas” and Development of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Health and Personnel and Frotliners in the time of COVID-19 crisis in the Philippines (Phase 1).”
