On to the regional level, College of Agriculture professors hope to materialize their proposal on crop production after winning an initial start-up capital of P50, 000 at the Young Farmers Challenge: Kabataang Agribiz Program in August this year.
The Department of Agriculture (DA)-Cebu ushered Prof. Julian Cumad’s presentation on “Best-JOC Integrated Farm” which initially focused on the production of raw agri-commodities to be sold in the local market, while Prof. Rickie Gonzaga’s project “3JRSZ Riverside Integrated Farm” ventured into poultry production and vegetable production using crop rotation techniques.
Both CTU Tuburan academics will have the chance to take home a hefty P150, 000 and P300, 000 at regionals and nationals, respectively, if projects are properly implemented.
Cumad in an interview spoke of farming as his priority above all that requires courage most significantly. UICPA
