CTU Danao, yet again, received recognition for developing the welfare of inmates in region seven, thus earning such for three years in a row.
The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology collaborated with the campus through the latter’s Gender and Development (GAD) and Extension Services.
“Skills, Attitude, and Knowledge for Productive Inmates” or “SAKPI sa BJMP Program” has been reaping awards since its implementation in 2018.
Campus director Rose Mary Almacen’s backing of the initiative contributed to the aforesaid success, allowing inmates to learn Electronics Productivity Assembly and Servicing (EPAS), health care, t-shirt printing, baking, eco bag making, cosmetology, accessories making, sewing, rag making, and more.
At the peak of COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 28, 804 face masks were distributed to BJMP dormitories in Danao, Bogo, and Medellin.
