CTU San Francisco conducts university-wide culture and the arts training-workshops

The Cebu Technological University- San Francisco College of Business Administration, in collaboration with University Sports and Wellness/Culture and the Arts Office and Commission on Higher Education- Region VII, conducted the 2022 University Wide Culture and the Arts Training-Workshops for Coaches/Trainers in Dances, Music, Visual Arts, Literary Arts, and Theatre Arts on April 27-29, 2022 at Camao Pension House & Resorts, San Francisco, Cebu.

Dr. Jonita V. Literatus, the officer-in-charge- campus director of CTU San Francisco, welcomed the participants across campuses. Prof. Francisco Lucero, the university director for Culture and the Arts, and Dr. Nemia Zamora, the university director for Sports and Wellness, also gave their statement of purpose and keynote speeches, respectively. 

Professor Lucero shared in his speech that the activity is in harmonization with the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of the university to bring forth a holistic and meaningful experience for college students. 

“We take charge in the entertainment aspect of their association with culture and the arts. We will give them the meaningful ang holistic experience when they are still in college,” he said.

The activity aims to equip the coaches and representations of PASUC Regional and National competitions. Also, it is initiated to comply with Quacquarelli Symonds or QS Ranking requirements for the Culture and the arts.

The equally-competent trainers who shared their expertise with the coaches include Mr. Kurt Buenconsejo and Prof. Arjellin L. Mistula for Dances; Dr Ionell Jay Terogo and Dr Elaine P. Perfecio for Literary Arts; Prof. Jonathan Theo C. Robles for Music; Prof. Julios Sagrado for Visual Arts; and Dr Nelson Enage for Theatre Arts.

Soli-Soli Ugmad and COED dancers entertained the participants during the welcome ceremony and culmination night, hosted by Dr. Vincent Borres and Dr. Collin Garrido.

The university-wide activity culminated with Cultural Night Showcase, in which all participants presented their outputs after the two-day training/workshop.-Junas Flores
