CTU key officials with NORSU President, administrator, faculty and staff

The Davao Oriental State University (DORSU) is eyeing to become a SMART Campus; thus, chose and visited CTU for on-site benchmarking on May 5, 2022.

DORSU, led by Dr Roy Ponce, university president, and its faculty and administrators, does not focus solely on becoming a smart campus but also on observing CTU’s school management system, data records and archiving, and data center/Data Science Center Management System.

Dr Joseph Pepito, campus director, welcomed the visitors and led them to tour the campus, providing enough information concerning the university.

To answer the queries of DORSU administrators and faculty, Prof. Allan Mariñas, university PIO, facilitated the huge round table discussion where Dr. Jerlito Letrondo, vice-president for finance and administration; and Mr. Irvin Narsico, OIC Dean of the Students Affairs Office (SAO) answered the questions in regard to the school management system.

Prof. Johannes Camasura, university director for automation, innovation, and computing explained the process and system on how CTU became a smart campus, and Dr. Catherine Ross Degula, campus admission officer, presented the CTU online way of admitting students.

The whole day benchmarking concluded with Dr. Roy Ponce expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome and allowing them to benchmark and convey his interest in forming a partnership with CTU particularly in digital transformation and biodiversity conservation.

CTU is one of the higher education institutions (HEI) in the country, well- known for implementing smart-campus concepts and practices.

Last April 29, 2022, Northwest Samar State University also visited CTU for benchmarking activity.  –Almie Mata /Center for Communication and Media
