The recently concluded Second Quarter Regular Board of Regents’ Meeting held on June 11, 2022, at the Cultural Center, Camp John Hay, Baguio City, Benguet proved to be very productive due to the unwavering support of the governing board (GB) to all of CTU’s endeavors.
With that said, the limited face-to-face classes and in-person graduation rites can now be conducted. Hence this year’s graduates will wear the academic gown with Sablay during the commencement exercises.
New programs are set to be offered in CTU. The BS Aerospace Engineering in CTU Main will soon be offered in AY 2023-2024 and BS Entrepreneurship for AY 2022-2023. Meanwhile, CTU Carmen Campus intends to offer the BS Marine Biology and BS Biology major in Biotechnology in AY 2022-2023.
On the other hand, the CTU Cebu City Mountain Satellite Campus (CCMSC) also sought the Board’s approval as a requirement for the certificate of program compliance (COPC) application. These are the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture-Horticulture, Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education major in Industrial Arts, and Bachelor of Industrial Technology major in Electronics Technology for AY 2022-2023.
The MOA between the Cebu Technological University (CTU) and Centara World Hotel Co., LTD (Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World) and the deployment of twenty-four (24) Hotel Management Intern Students got the nod from the Board including the visiting professorship request of Dr. Michel Plaisant in CTU with no remuneration.
The Board further approves the academic visit of Dr. Romeo Montecillo, Ms. Lelani Cordero, and Dr. Charena Castro to Singapore for the AIBotics 2022 Familiarization, request for in-person attendance of Dr. Rhodora Magan and Dr. Ronald Galindo to ERASMUS-backed FRIENDS Meeting in Poland, the conferment of honorary degree (Honoris Causa) to Engr. Edilberto L. Paradela and abolition of vacant faculty items for the creation of Instructor 1 Items and conversion to non-teaching positions.
Significantly, the designation of Dr. Hedeliza Pineda as the Vice-President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) was confirmed. Aside from that, the renewal of the collective negotiation agreement (CNA) instrument of the CTU Faculty Federated Association, change of signatories for CTU Barili’s Land Bank of the Philippines’ Account in Carcar Branch, closure and transfer of balance to the Land Bank of the Philippines, Barili Branch and request to open a bank account with the Land Bank of the Philippines, Naga Branch as its depository bank of CTU Naga Campus were all authorized by the GB.
