CTU champions AIBOTICS 2022, wins 2nd runner up

The 2022 AIBotics competition hailed Cebu Technological University as champion (Team A) with “Robotic Waste Segregator” and second runner-up (Team B) with “Photosynthetic Robot” as official entries at the offline competition in Singapore on August 21 through 26.

Team B and Team A comprised Odyssey Segarino, Mary Rosphere Buenconsejo and coach Janice Alivio and Jhan Clarence Godornes, Decemae Fae Napol and coach Jocely Abojon, respectively.

Initially five teams were identified to fly out to Singapore but narrowed down to two to ensure quality of representation. Participants included Western Australia University, ITE of Singapore and HEIs from Dubai and Korea.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Hedeliza Pineda led both CTU groups from two departments— Mechatronics and Graphics and Design of the College of Technology.

The CTU Board of Regent’s approved the offline short-term mobility, allocating funds to spur student excellence in the international arena.

AIBotics is an annual event organized by Asia Pacific Assistive Robotics Association, the “Leading Platform for Innovation, Adoption and Augmentation of Assistive Robotics Technology by the Digital Community.”/Harvey Y. Ouano / ICPA
