The office of the University Director for On-the-Job Training (OJT), and the University Career Center (UCC) and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) held its “Two-day Stakeholders’ Summit and OJT Calibration” to improve the OJT operations held on September 14-15, 2022, at the Function Room in Centennial Building, Cebu Technological University-Main Campus (CTU-MC).
Through the initiative of the office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), the two-day meeting discussed potential opportunities and improvements concerning changes in OJT operations due to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
Moreover, they aim to provide and develop plans and opportunities to help students enhance their skills and knowledge in their training as interns despite the pandemic.
CTU coordinators across campuses and the CTU’s partner industries and other linkages attended the meeting.
On the first day, three lectures were discussed during the morning session. The lectures were Identifying Learning Skills/Target, discussed by Prof. Bejay B. Bolivar—University Director for Cultural and Heritage; Duties and Responsibilities of OJT Coordinator, discussed by Dr. Christian Ray C. Licen—OIC Dean, College of Arts and Sciences; and OJT Manual discussed by Dr. Nolasco K. Malabago—Dean of College of Technology.
There was also an open forum facilitated by Dr. Reah G. Fabrica, University Director of the OJT Program. The first day concluded with the presentation of outputs per course from the workshop in the early afternoon of the same day.
The participating stakeholders were Introduced during the second day of the event by Dr. Nona Fe Y. Estolas, University Director for Career Center.
There were a total of 56 stakeholders participated in the event. On the same day, the Importance of Networking and Linkages and Standard Operating Procedures and Practices on OJT-MOA were discussed by Dr. Rhodora G. Magan—University Director for Internalization and ASEAN Integrity and Atty. Marvey J. Arnoco-Ocampo—Vocational School Superintendent II, respectively.
The collaborative session with the stakeholders, Deans, and OJT Coordinators also happened during the event’s second day.
The Lady of Ceremony for the event was Prof. Liean Jane Haney Rama, University Director for Curriculum Planning and Development.
