This year’s Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Provincial Elimination round was simultaneously held in all provinces of Region 7. In Cebu Province, the 26th PSQ was held last October 20, 2022, at Cebu Technological University-Main Campus as the host of the said event.
Adolben Malabago Jr., a freshman BS Math student of Cebu Technological University-Main Campus (CTU-MC), was hailed as the champion among the estimated total of sixty (60) participants from the different schools/universities.
Alongside Malabago were Angel Marie Napuli and Jonas Bakiki, who are also freshmen BS Math students of CTU- MC, participated in the said event and leapt bravery and excellence in giving their best to win the contest, with the guidance of Prof. Julius D. Selle as a coach and Prof. Robert Jay Angco and Prof. Frances Jay Pacaldo as trainers.
Delegates from Cebu Institute of Technology – University (CIT-U) bagged the 2nd and fourth place, the University of Cebu – Main Campus (UC-MC) got the third place, the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR) was hailed as the fifth placer, and University of San Carlos (USC) got the sixth place.
The following top-performing schools/universities during the event with their representative students will advance to the Regional PSQ to be held on November 14, 2020, at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas-Cebu.
The Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) is an annual competition for first-year college students enrolled in any private or public college or university in the Philippines.
