CTU celebrates its 13th anniversary with the continuing story of QS rankings

Representatives from Cebu Technological University’s various campuses gathered in CTU Danao Campus to commemorate the university’s anniversary on November 10, 2022, with the theme “Rekindling the Premier University’s Enthusiasm of Camaraderie in its 13th Year Anniversary.”

Cebu Technological University was formerly known as Cebu State College of Science and Technology (CSCST) and was elevated to the status of a state university on November 10, 2009, by virtue of Republic Act No. 9744.

This milestone reflects CTU’s purpose of providing quality services to all students and stakeholders as it perseveres in its mission to offer opportunities and assistance in both local and international platforms, indicating the ongoing recognition in HEI global rankings, including the 2023 Quacquarelli Symonds Award, which was presented on the same day.

To honor the legacy of the university’s past and look forward to its promising future, the event kicked off with a ribbon cutting headed by Dr. Rosein A. Ancheta Jr. SUC President IV, with some of the stakeholders coming from Korea Traditional Skill Master Association led by their President Shin Jungchul.

Extension Services and University Research and Development Exhibit booths were set up to display some of the products made from several CTU campuses as well as all the latest innovations that the research office has to offer.

The evening program heightens the excitement of the CebuTech@13 celebration, with CTU’s agile and talented faculties which hyped up the event by coming up with the 1970’s Disco Fashion theme. They danced to the classical beat while dressed in retro 1970s outfits.

The night became even more vibrant when Hinablon de Cebu– Argao’s pride, flaunted its elegance on the runway, capturing the attention of the visitors.

The CebuTech@13 celebration represents the university’s passion for excellence as it continues to pursue achievement and sustained greatness being a premier university.
