CTU forges new ground with international partnership

In an effort to strengthen international partnership, the Cebu Technological University (CTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between BK21 MADEC (Marine Designeering Education Research Group and Korea Traditional Skill Masters Association of Pukyong National University-Busan South Korea, in a ceremony held on November 10, 2022, at the Campus Director’s office of CTU Danao.

The partnership was formalized through the signing of the MOU by Dr. Rosein A. Ancheta Jr., CTU University President, and Professor Cho Joung Hyung, President of Pukyong National University, as witnessed by Dr. Rose Mary L. Almacen, Vice President for Students Affairs, together with BK21 MADEC Professor Lee Jung Hee, Kang Aryung, Merve Gozel from Turkey, Lee Wonchull CEO of Color Lights Company, Lee Sangkwean an English Teacher, some representatives of Korea Traditional Skill Masters Association led by President Shin Jungchul and few Campus Directors across CTU.

Cebu Technological University and BK21 MADEC have initiated this mutual exchange agreement for a joint effort to develop global human resources and agree to respect their mutual and diverse enterprises for scientific and cultural exchanges in international design fields, including innovative marine design, in order to produce top-level experts.

The agreement calls for both organizations to provide the administrative services and facilities necessary for them to carry out their best activities for various businesses, as well as to fully cooperate in personnel exchanges, R&D, co-hosting the symposium, the provision of information, investigation activities, event support, promoting the adoption of expertise through program exchanges on marine design and related cultural contents, pursuing reciprocal visits, and support training programs for excellent students.

On the other hand, a Memorandum of Understanding was also signed to promote educational and academic exchange and cooperation between the Cebu Technological University and the Korea Traditional Skill Masters Association.
The partnership will foster and advance cooperation in the rolling sectors in accordance with the values of equality and reciprocity. This includes exchanging faculty, staff, and researchers, exchanging academic publications, resources, and information, working on cooperative projects, and setting up academic conferences.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of Cebu Technological University and BK21 MADEC is effective for two years from the date of signature and will be automatically extended unless either party gives notice of termination. The partnership between Cebu Technological University and the Korea Traditional Skill Masters Association states that this agreement should be reviewed approximately every five (5) years.
