To edify the technologists, primarily the youth, with the effects of the rapid growth of HIV/AIDS cases, the Campus Clinic in collaboration with the Gender and Development Office conducted a two-day HIV/AIDS Awareness Seminar and Free Testing program for selected 4th-year students, OJTs, SSG officers, faculty, non-teaching staff and job orders of Cebu Technological University- San Francisco Campus held at the Bantawan sa Kabantog Gym slated on November 28-29, 2022.
The seminar talked about how HIV/AIDS works inside the human body, how it targets our immune system, and how it weakens us. Mr. Harvey P. Gorre, the guest speaker, talked about the Three Modes of Transmission, Four Body Fluids, and the Five Means of Prevention, or the ABCDE. The attendees were also taught the correct usage and disposal of condoms for safety purposes. An open forum then took place after the discussion to address questions and clarifications from the participants of the aforementioned activity which was then followed by HIV Testing and Counseling led by the Danao City Health Personnel.
Let us all foster awareness, prevention, and equality to end HIV.
