Cebu Technological University-BS Psychology course held the 1st Candle Lighting and Pinning Ceremony at CN. Bldg., CTU-Main Campus on February 8, 2023.
The 4th year students sequentially attended the ceremonies, their parents, and the Psychology faculty headed by Prof. Mizzy Melendez, course chairperson under Dr. Christian Ray Licen, OIC-Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).
The pinning ceremony symbolizes the students’ readiness in terms of competence, maturity, and character to embark on another phase of challenges in their academic journey as future Psychology practitioners. Likewise, the candle lighting signifies the student’s acceptance of the challenges in their chosen profession.
A milestone in the College of Nursing, the capping, pinning and candle lighting ceremony signifies the transition of nursing students from the classroom to the hospital setting. It indicates that the student could pass all the necessary requirements and examinations and perform their responsibilities competently in the clinical area.
After the pinning and candle lighting ceremonies, Mel-Ann B. Barcenal, CTU-APS President, gave his message for the Pledge and Commitment to Service.
The ceremonies were concluded with a class song and video presentation.
