CTU-DELS conducts mentoring of the cooperating teachers for the internship program

The CTU’s Department of English and Literacy Studies (DELS) conducted an orientation and seminar in preparation for the role of mentors in the teaching internship program of the Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) and Bachelor of Arts in Literature (BAL) program on February 7, 2023, held at CN. bldg., CTU-Main-Campus.

It was attended by Dr. Rowanne Marie Mangompit, internship coordinator (BAEL-Evening Program); Prof. Aida Un, internship coordinator (BAEL-Day Program); Prof. Bejay Bolivar, internship coordinator (BAL-Program) along with all the DEL’s faculty of CTU-Main headed by Dr. Christian Ray Licen, OIC-Dean of College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).

With the theme “Becoming a mentor: From setting objectives to Assessing Practice Teachers,” Dr. Cristie Ann L. Jaca, University Director of Information Communication and Public Affairs (ICPA) and Center for Communication and Media (CCM), as a speaker, talked about the responsibilities as mentors and of the best practices of practice teaching mentoring.

The seminar concluded by discussing the crafted guidelines for teaching internships and including the various documentation necessary to keep track of the progress of their practice teachers.
