Pepito, who also serves as the University Director for Information, Communications, and Public Affairs, garnered dual accolades at the 2023 Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits Mindanao Cluster. The prestigious event unfolded on October 4-5, 2023, at the VIP Hotel, Don Apolinar Velez St., Cagayan De Oro, Misamis Oriental.
Dr. Pepito, in collaboration with Dr. Rene Chavez from Bukidnon State University, emerged triumphant by securing the 3rd prize in two distinguished categories. The dynamic duo clinched the Likha Award for Outstanding Creative Research Government Funded, recognizing their exemplary work in the Design, Development, and Evaluation of an Autotronics Simulation Model for Car Lightning System. Additionally, they received the Unlad Award for Outstanding Utility Model for their innovative Hands-free Disinfection and Temperature Monitoring System.
The Regional Invention Contest and Exhibit (RICE) is a nationwide initiative orchestrated by the Department of Science and Technology – Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAP).
