CTU’s Meteoric Rise Aligning with Global Benchmarks and SUC Standards

In a commitment to propel Cebu Technological University (CTU) to greater heights of success, the university’s Vice-Presidents and other esteemed officials recently convened in the Office of the University President Boardroom. This gathering, which took place on January 26, 2024, marked a pivotal moment as the collective leadership assembled for the Presentation and Critiquing of University Targets for the fiscal years 2024-2028.

Guided by a visionary approach, the dynamic team of leaders presented and scrutinized the comprehensive targets that will shape CTU’s trajectory in the upcoming years. Dr. Reylan G. Capuno, Vice-President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), presented the targets for Academic/Instruction. Dr. Amelia Girly L. Aranas, Vice-President for Research and Extension Development, shared insights into the Research and Extension goals. Dr. Rose Mary L. Almacen, Vice-President for Student Affairs, Production, and Resource Generation, delved into targets related to Student Affairs, Production, and Resource Generation. The intricate facets of Administration and Finance were elucidated by JD Jerlito A. Letrondo, Vice-President for Administration and Finance. Dr. Rosein A. Ancheta Jr., Vice-President for Operations, took charge of presenting the CTU Organizational Structure, offering a roadmap for streamlined efficiency.

The symphony of ideas and strategic planning did not end with the Vice-Presidents; a cohort of distinguished figures contributed to the enriching discourse. Dr. Cristie Ann L. Jaca, University Director for Information, Communication, and Public Affairs (ICPA), along with Dr. Ariel L. Ramos, University Dean of Instruction, Dr. Adeline P. Dela Cruz, University Director for Faculty Training and Development, Dr. Jonathan Maglasang, University Director for Research and Development, Dr. Lolita A. Velita, University Director for Resource Generation and Industry Linkage, Dr. Marie Joy B. Alit, University Director for Alumni Affairs, and Ms. Christine Corrales from the PBB, QS, PQA Secretariat, actively participated in shaping and refining the targets.

The refinement and elevation of university targets align seamlessly with the benchmarks set forth in the State Universities and Colleges (SUC) leveling framework. Furthermore, this strategic enhancement is intricately calibrated to align with globally acknowledged university rankings, including, but not limited to, QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), THE (Times Higher Education), and WURI (World University Rankings by Academic Performance).

This concerted effort not only aims to meet and exceed national standards but also positions the university on the international stage, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in academic, research, and institutional performance. As the institution evolves in sync with these esteemed benchmarks, it solidifies its commitment to global competitiveness and sets a trajectory for sustained growth and recognition.

Finally, the collaborative effort to enhance the university’s goals was skillfully facilitated by Mr. Irvin A. Narsico, HRMO III, under the capable supervision of Dr. Jana Gloria F. Almerino, University SPMS Planning Officer/HRMO IV. / ICPA
